Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Im not surprised by the bad reviews.. this is a new establishment - we visited days after they opened, and had a very similar experience to all the 1 star reviewers here. The time before that, a day after they opened, we actually left.. the over was full, so pizza was an hour behind, they "werent serving breadaticks yet", and our waitress even told us we should probably go elsewhere.. BUT, it's local to us, we LOVE pizza, and were really rooting for this place! The start was obviously very rough, but we went back last week, and left much happier than the first couple times. The mozzarella sticks are delicious, if not a bit overcooked last time. Our pizza was awesome.. whiever is making the pasta needs a swift kick, though. We ordered a kids soaghetti for my 2 year old - his favorite - and he ate it, but I considered sending it back. There was water in the bottom of the dish, and the sauce was super skimpy and not very tasty. Not bad, just bland. Im not a fan of restaurant spaghetti anyways, but for pasta being a big portuon of their menu, the spaghetti needs work. We also havent been a fan of the servers.. it takes a special kind of person to work with the public, and so far we've only seen young, overwhelmed and unfriendly servers here. This certainly isnt intended to be a negative review, just honest. We love the pizza, the salads look awesome, but just like any new business, just needs a little work! Surely, by now management is aware, and hopefully they're working on it. I'm surprised to hear the above reviewer had an unpleasent experience with the owner.. we chatted with him, and it seems hes put it all in this place, and really wants it to be succesful. Definitely don't write this place off yet! I totally see the potential!

Came in for a quick bite to eat must say i enjoy every bit of my dinner. Diane was great, explained every item on the menu, i loved the meat parmigiani appetizer, as for dinner the bianco pizza was excellent! Great food and great service. Even the owner Dan came over and thanked us for coming in!

We have tried it twice now. The first was carryout. We were concerned because the pizza felt very lightweight in the box so I figured it would be nasty like a hot and ready. Not the case! The pizza was awesome! Very good quality ingredients and a very unique taste. The second time we ate in and tried lunch. Service and atmosphere were great as was the food. The burger was tasty and the sausage and pepper sandwich was to die for! Welcome to the neighborhood!

Went there this past weekend on 12/21/2014 to give this place a try for my mothers birthday. When we walked in, we waited 5 mins to even be greeted. Their wasn't wait staff so the hostess who was also our waitress had to clean a table large enough for our 5 person party.Upon placing our orders we ordered appetizers, drinks and dinner. When my salad came out, I was immediately unimpressed by how my dressing tasted. We waited 20 mins for the waitress to bring out bread sticks(which are not included in the meals, you have to pay for them)and honestly, they were disgusting. The waitress even offered to get us a new batch re made. The looked like a child had slopped bread on a pan and baked it(they were hard and paper thin,literally).3 of us ordered Chicken Parmesan and each of us got burnt chicken and less than perfect spaghetti.During our meal we had to wait quite awhile to get drinks because they had to change pop.I use to manage a restaurant,so even I know that this doesn't take that long to do. Another factor that really didn't help was that our waitress was clearly under trained. Although the poor thing tried to stay calm, its not fair to her that she couldn't even explain to me what was in the soup. She had to make multiple trips to the tables because their was no trays. No waters were provided at table, you have to ask for it.Unfortunately I could go on about the complaints, and its unfortunate because I was really rooting for this place. I'll def. give it another try in a few months and see if they worked out all their kinks yet, once they get more staff and train them well then I think this could be a great spot.

My husband & I tried this newer restaurant as we love oven brick pizza. We just sat at the bar as we like to do when just the two of us, you get to know people and meet new friends. We are from the west side of the state and am already looking forward to our next visit to AP to have this pizza again. We built our own pizza and it was perfectly cooked, perfect crisp on the crust. We had meatballs and a Greek salad as an app. The meatballs were awesome, however could have been a little warmer for my taste. Being a new restaurant, you must expect a few disappointments and hiccups. The owner stopped over and asked us how things were and held quite a nice conversation with us. I think they are aware of the issues, however, what newer restaurant doesn't start out this way. I read a few disappointing reviews and I just want anyone who reads them to know that our food was awesome. In fact, having leftovers tonight and already planning our next visit soon. Give them a try and for those that had a bad experience, give them another try. I only say this with one experience but it was a great one. Our bartender Tom and the other patrons at the bar were friendly and fun. Food again, repeating myself, awesome!

This place recently opened and I have wanted to give them a try. After thoroughly enjoying our meal of Toasted Ravioli, Meatball Parm, Bruschetta and soup, we were surprised by the negative reviews. Our waitress explained that they had some issues early on that have been resolved, especially with the wait staff. Overall, we had enjoyable food with good service and will return based upon our dining experience. One thing I will say is that attention to detail needs to be addressed by ownership. There is no Open Sign, when we drove by, because of the dark windows, it was hard to tell if they were open. In fact, I got out of the car and went inside before coming back out to tell the rest of my group that they were open. Also, there was a pane of glass missing from the front door and the light switch covers had paint all over them from when they recently painted. Devil is in the details Vettraino's, make the effort to clean it up and it will pay off.

We had high hopes since there haven't been a lot of new restaurants to open in AP since we moved here (about 5 years). We were greeted nicely and seated promptly. We ordered the mozzarella sticks for an appetizer. They appeared to be freshly made but not as hot as I would have liked. They were accommodating in letting my son add a meatball to his spaghetti. Sometimes as parents it is nice to have the kiddo's food come out first since they can be so hungry which she did offer but then it became clear that out pizza was taking longer than it should be. After a little while longer the waitress came out and said it would be another 5-10 minutes. It took too long to get our pizza especially for a place focused on pizza. I'd consider doing take-out for an alternative to other AP pizza choices but I'm not sure dining in was worth it.

I've tried it twice. Strike two!!! First time pizza was bad and waitress was terrible. Second time, hostess and waitress were great but food was lousy. Bread is not included with meals? This is an Italian restaurant where you pay extra for bread!? I ordered chicken parm because they didn't have cacciatore on the menu. They didn't even know what it was?!? Chicken was over- fried (burnt) and chewy. Pasta was less than half of a cup?? Salad was lame with dressing in a premeasured plastic takeout cup. I didn't bother with dessert. And at the table next to me....was the owner? And his pals discussing how to drum up business. Talking coupons, art fair advertising ....here's an idea...how about improved food and menu? New chefs? I was talking to friends in the area - they also have had bad experiences here. Word is out. Dine elsewhere!!

(IF I COULD RATE THIS A -5 OUT OF 5 STARS I WOULD!) I was absolutely disgusted with my experience here. I had visited this establishment once before, and while it was far from impressive, I thought I would give it another chance. After this experience, though, I will NEVER be eating there again. First of all, the cheese sticks came out soggy and too greasy. Next, the minestrone soup was so spicy it was literally inedible. Then my main course, baked mostoccolli, comes out with very little sauce and three inches of water in the bottom of the bowl. I ask the waitress if I can get a fresh one with sauce instead of water, and instead my meal was taken back into the kitchen, the water was drained out, and it was given back to me less than one minute later. Appauled at the level of dismissiveness they gave to my complaint, I once again asked for a FRESH order of mostoccolli. I then sat there and watched the cook begin to make me a fresh order, as I was lucky enough to be seated at a booth where I could see through to the kitchen. He strained the noodles with his BARE FINGERS and a DIRTY RAG! As soon as I saw this I called over my server and asked to speak with a manager. When the manager came out, he was extremely rude, unconcerned, and told me that I was causing a problem. Not once did he even apologize for this disgusting behavior on behalf of his cook, nor did he even acknowledge the fact that I would have been served an unsafe and dirty meal in his establishment. The health department will most definitely be hearing from me soon regarding this restaraunt and its quality of food standards. I DEFINITELY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTARAUNT TO ANYONE! (unless you like food prepared with dirty rags, of course).

The pizza and calzone we had were outstanding!

We came here recently with some friends and were quite unimpressed. Overall the food was average at best and the service was quite bad. * Bruschetta: Not bad, though the bread wasn't toasted so it got soggy pretty quick. * Toasted Ravioli's: The group was split on this with 1/2 liking it and 1/2 thinking it was pretty blah. * Pasta Fagioli: It looked like pasta and pizza sauce, and tasted pretty similar to that. Plus there was a giant hunk of tomato taking up a lot of room that didn't get pureed. * Porchetta Dinner: The porchetta was dry and the vegetables were cold * Parmesean Chicken Sandwich: This is the only thing that got a favorable review from one of us. It was tasty and well made. * "Homemade" spaghetti with meatballs and vodka sauce: The vodka sauce was good, the pasta seemed like it was from a box and the meatballs came out 5 minutes later with marinara sauce. They were average. * Brick oven Pizza: For a place that supposedly specializes in brick oven pizza, this was a disappointment. I actually couldn't lift a slice without the piece just folding down and dumping all the toppings. The taste was decent but it was incredibly soggy and definitely not properly cooked. As for the service, it was almost comical. The server did not know the menu at all and had to look at our menus to see what she was to write down. Her "wine list" comprised of Merlot, Chardonnay, etc. She was also unfamiliar with what was on tap. We noticed there was a magic hat on tap and asked what kind it was. She said "it's magic hat." Yes, we can see that. Thanks! Our drinks came out two at a time because apparently they don't use trays there. We only saw one server use them. The appetizers came out about two minutes after the soup and salad. The server also would swing by our table repeatedly to tell us our food was "almost out" but it was difficult to get her attention long enough to order additional drinks. We had empty glasses for 10 minutes or so. The meals came out one at a time and not quickly. Then when we asked for the bill it took her another 10 minutes to actually bring it. Then when she picked it up she was gone again for a considerable length of time though we saw that she was dropping off bills to other tables at that time. Overall the wait staff needs some major training.

Firstly, ask for Sam. She's sweet and attentive. It was our first time there and she was more than helpful and patient with us. We got an order of their breadsticks and fried ravioli for appetizers. Their bread was delicious. Sam suggested their 2 for $20.00 special so we could try a pasta and a medium 1-topping pizza. Amazing value! The pizza was crisp and cheesy, delicious pepperoni also. We got chicken fettuccine alfredo, pretty good also. If you're in the area stop in, the negative reviews couldn't be more from the truth!

I gave this place a second try a couple of months after my first experience. Unfortunately, it has not improved. The newspaper article touting their grand opening said it was 2 years in the making getting the building ready for business. The interior looked very slapped together, the walls painted around the outlet covers without removing them and unpainted between the booth backs. The waitstaff were not rude but terribly inefficient and unorganized. A woman who I assume is one of the owners was walking around telling everyone how hard she has been working but not contributing to the work I could see needing to be done. 3 couples were seated after us over a span of 20 minutes and we watched as each one recieved their food ahead of us. Our waitress finally came back to say our pizza would be right out. 15 minutes later, no food. Finally after another 10 minutes our cold and unappealing pizza arrived. The pizza was very bland and cardboard like. Honestly, I've had better frozen pizza at home. When I questioned our pizza being cold I was met with the excuse of how busy they were but I couldn't help but notice plenty of empty tables and that we were one of only two tables this waitress had. Overall this place needs to shape up quick because a business cannot survive on family and friends alone. Avoid this restaurant if you like good pizza and good service.

I had my daughter's baby shower at Vettrainos this weekend and everything was absolutely perfect. The food was wonderful Sam and Karen took such great care of all of our guests...it was like they were taking care of their family. They accommodated everything that we could possibly need and had thought if it before we even had to ask...Did I say the food was AWSOME!!! Well it was that and then some. I would recommend this facility for any event....or any night or day for a great meal with a friendly..... family atmosphere!!!!!!

My family and I visited on Valentine's day. We had a meat lovers pizza, artichoke pizza and breadsticks. My extremely picky hard to please fiancé loved the artichoke pizza. I thought both pizzas were pretty decent but just not great. There wasn't enough sauce on the pizza for my taste but ingredients were definitely fresh and plentiful. On the other hand the breadsticks were very bland. No flavor at all and they tasted a little stale like they were left out from the day before. I know we will probably be regulars here because my fiancé was completely won over. I can eat here but it don't prefer it over Buddy's so it wouldn't be my first choice or even my second choice. On the bright side, I love supporting local businesses and I hope they do very well!

I just launched a business and needed a place to host a party. I chose Vettrianos because I wanted to support a local business. The banquet room is a nice size and has a screen that was perfect for my presentation. One staff member even went home to get a speaker for me to use! Talk about going above and beyond! The service was outstanding and the food was fantastic! I ordered blackened salmon and vegetables and it was cooked perfectly. I also ordered antipasto plates and pizzas for my guests, and many complimented the food. One of my guests said this restaurant was a hidden gem. I'm so glad I chose Vettrianos and will Definitely be back.

This place is just getting started and off to a better than average start. The staff was warm and inviting. They were genuinely aiming to please and very accommodating. I was apart of a large group & there were no complaints on the food or service from anyone. I tried the lasagna and was pleased although I'd try something different next time. Portions were decent. You could share the lasagna as it also comes with a generous serving of breadsticks. Hopefully they'll be around for awhile!

I was seriously disappointed with this new place. As a local resident I was pretty excited to see a new place opening in our backyard. It took them about 2 years to open so I thought it was sure to be a hit. It took us a while to go in, we gave them time to get their feet under them (about 3 mo). And we're a little put off by the "homemade signs" outside the building... It appeared cheap for a place looking to bring in customers, and there were barely any cars in the parking lot on a Saturday night...but we tried anyways. We went safe with some soup, salad, and pizza. How could you screw that up, right? The salad came out with dressing in a plastic container like we would get from a take out pizza place. Soup was about 4oz and cost 3.99. Pizza was awful. I got a personal pizza that was equivalent to two regular slices of pizza and was 90%crust and cost $9.00. Our server was less than experienced even after we told her it was our first time there... You'd think she/the owner would try to make it a little special especially considering the awful reviews they have gotten. We will not go back again and wish we would have put our $50 (yes $50!!!!!) to better use. 1 star is more than they deserve.

I have ordered carry out a couple of times prior to tonight, so I went in with high expectations. I'm currently in the restaurant, and was compelled to download Yelp and write my first review. The service, or lack of service, should have been a warning sign from the start. We didn't see our waitress for over 5 minutes, so the hostess came over and took our drink order. After another 5 minutes, our waitress finally took our order. It's been over an hour and they still haven't brought out the food. I have been out of soda since before the waitress took our order. No explanation to the delay. The food is good, when carried out, but don't waste your time dining in.

I feel that it is just not fair to give a bad review of a brand new place. Soft opens are always tough and, as a whole, my first experience with Vettraino's did not break that superstition... but, my lord, the food certainly did. Before they even had their doors open, my mother in law booked my rehearsal dinner here. We like to support local businesses and were just going on a hunch that it would be good. The owner said that he would make sure it happened even if he had to open for a private party. Then we got invited to the staff & family preview and got to sample much of the menu. Technical kinks aside, the food was tasty and well prepared. On the day of our rehearsal dinner there were timing issues, but the food was damn near phenomenal. We recently returned for dinner, just us and my in-laws. From greeting to seating, through ordering and eating, we received friendly and timely service, great drinks, tasty salad, delicious pizzas (bianco and pepperoni) and the server hooked us up with fancy cannoli when my husband mentioned it was my birthday. I highly recommend that you one and two star reviewers give them another shot now that they are hitting their stride... some places take a lot longer than two months to improve this much and I think you could be robbing yourself of deliciousness to write it off so soon.

First time visiting. The staff was so friendly. We got pizzas, awesome huge friend mushrooms and cheese sticks. But have to say the best was chocolate chip cannali! One of the best ones I have had! Can't wait to go back.
(5)T. J.
Continuing with our Allen Park reviews I stopped twice here. First time I had a chicken dish that was very good (under $15) salad and pasta with a lemon chicken. So good that I had to come back and try their signature pizza (Vettraino's Special) I also had a bowl of The House soup (Pasta Fagioli) Soup was superior. $5 but worth it and good to the last drop. The Pizza was a thin crust, Olive oil drizzled mainly white cheese but with smattering of other components. Not as crisp as Major Tomatoe's but seemingly more flavor. Both visits were exceptional uses of a twenty dollar bill. I am not sure if thin crust pizzas are good to go. I feel they should be consumed as soon as possible from the oven.

As soon as we walked in the door we could tell this wasn't going to be a good experience. It look 10 minutes to get any attention to be sat even when the entire dining room was closed. There were kids roaming around with glasses of wine that didn't even seem of age. But the worst part was the smell, I don't know if they have cats or just a really bad case of mold but it was unbearable. If my food wasn't up within 10 minutes and I like to know how they prepared it so fast we would have walked out the door
(1)Maureen P.
Very disappointed. There was 5 in our party. The 2 stars is for our server, and the pizza was decent. Now for the not so good. Place smelled SUPER musty right when you walked in the door.(The door that still says Tuilio's by the way) I ordered a Margherita on the rock's. It tasted like straight up lime mix, nothing more. No alcohol was detected whatsoever. She brought out breadsticks to our table and they were hard as a rock. For my entree I ordered spaghetti with marinara. Absolutely the worst spaghetti I've ever had! And for $10 too! The sauce was sooo dark, almost looked black and tasted like it was from out of a jar. I ate about 3 bites and pushed it to the end of the table. Server picked it up, never asking how it was or if I wanted a box. She knew the answer and didn't want to hear it. 3 people in my group ordered pizza and it was "decent" The other person ordered lasagna and said it was awful. We all thought it looked awful too, so we were right! So now I'm sitting there, and figured I'll get a Bud Light draft. It wasn't cold and it was flat. I will not be returning here.
(2)Craig M.
Best pizza in town. Always have a good wait staff. Been there several times not a bad thing yet. Keep up the good work. We will be back.
(5)Peg P.
We are "locals" and tried this place early on. Not so good. Under-staffed. Unfriendly feeling. Bare-naked walls. Food - eh! Well, fast-forward to Last Week. We decided to try it again, mainly, because there is a man that stands outside with a pizza box wearing a "Lord knows what", and we figured we could suffer through a bad pizza because this man is amazingly diligent at his job. SO GLAD we tried it again. It was excellent. We did get the pizza, as well as another entree and soup. The food, the wait-staff, ambiance, presentation; all above expectation. The owner was there. Management checked on us. Really glad we gave it another chance. And Mario is the guy's name! Say hello.
(4)Ashley J.
Food here is delicious! This area has needed a place like this for so long! The brick oven pizza is amazing. Weekends have live music, and it really creates a wonderful atmosphere! Booths and tables are lovely! Drinks are reasonable & they have a Pacman machine! This place rules! This is my second time here & I will be coming back!!
(5)James M.
Pizza was incredibly salty, we threw it away after only a few bites. There is way better pizza downriver for sure, and cheaper.
(1)C S.
After a disappointing first visit, we gave this place another try. So glad we did. The pizza was excellent, as was the service. Everyone deserves a second chance.
(4)Jon W.
I will never visit this restaurant again. Did not even get to try the food. The hostess sat us. And we waited and waited. 3 servers in our area. All gave eye contact. No one came to take our order. After sitting for 12 minutes. We left when people that came in after us got waited on
